March update!

Dear all,

We're getting the next version of the book ready, with new art, a new layout and a lot of different jokes,so don't give up yet if you're trying to buy a copy of it. I'm redoing the formula for profit-sharing because of the lovely new art done by others, so that the cover art will be worth 20 "tweets" and the sectional art 8 (thread cartoons will still be 5).

Sorry for the delay! As you know, I've used several research engines combined with written records for determining first use, and am including the best jokes of those people who gave me permission and contact addresses. In the book's introduction I invite people to send me a link to their dated tweet if they came up with one of the jokes before the date listed, and if people were in the earlier version of the book but don't see their names in the new version they can give me permission and a contact address and will be reinstated in a future rewrite.

Researching was greatly slowed by the imperfection of search engines, which don't go back far enough, don't list chronologically, include only a tenth of a person's tweets, etc. If you've found a public domain search engine that goes back years and chronologically (and reliably) lists use of a joke, let me know. You'll make me very happy!

I invite you to send a Direct Message if you have any more witty and appropriate tweets you'd like to have considered that I may not have found, even if they were entered under different threads. I just need a link to the date you tweeted it, which you can get if you click on the blue "time" at the left of the bottom line under your tweet on the Twitter page. Please spread the word.
